Oatmeal

I used to absolutely detest oatmeal. Even when I was a baby, and I'd eat anything you put in front of me, I wouldn't eat oatmeal. About a year ago, I decided that oatmeal was something that I should like. Logically, it was something that should be right up my alley, but I had this mental block telling me I didn't like it. So...I decided to remedy the situation. I bought some flavored oatmeal, and started eating it in the mornings. At first, I could only make it about half way through, and I couldn't do it every day. Now, I eat it every morning, and I love it. Most of the time, I eat the fruit flavored ones. Here lately I've branched out a little. Yesterday I ate a cinnamon roll flavored one. It was really good. This past weekend, I decided that I was doing so well that I should try out the regular flavor again. Oh my nasties! No wonder I had it in my head I didn't like the stuff. I added so much splenda and cinnamon to try to make it tolerable. I finally put in a bunch of butter and was able to choke it down. I think that sort of defeats the purpose of eating oatmeal though. I think I'll just stick to my fruit flavors and my new maple/cinnamon/brown sugar variety pack for a while.

Maple and brown sugar it is. I'm not eating it any other way!
